4000 km on bike across Australia: Rock and roll
On the way to Rollingstone, I broke a spoke on my wheel. The service cost me almost my mortgage, but I cycled to Woodstock.
4000 km on bike across Australia. I don’t know what I’m getting into. My plan is that I don’t have a plan. I have an idea and an approximate route. And I still have a Mayo bike and a head full of ideas that I need to sort out. I’m curious to see what will come of it at the end of the year. On a bike across Australia to restart yourself.
I’m slowly getting used to loaded bike, as well as to driving on the left. There are a lot of national parks next to the road, so I’m stopping at one. I pull my bicycle out and go for a ride. After a while, I see my first kangaroo. Sure, I am in Australia…

I cycle through the outback and the mining world. Excavators are everywhere, and tourist camps are nowhere. That is Blackwater.
I feel about like the astronauts when flying around the moon, and on the far side they were left without contact with the control centre
A distraction on the road are the road workers. They threw water bottles at me as I cycled like I was on the Tour de France
I have covered 110 km today to Crystal Creek. Poll hygiene. Rainy and cicadas. Again pretty noisy night. On bike across Australia.
I would like to cycle to the town of Cardwell. Thanks to watermelon, natives, and a storm, I don't get much sleep. Australian Night Storm.
