We fully fell in love with high-altitude walks this year. Just a few days after visiting the UFO observation deck in Bratislava at 85 meters above ground, we set out for an even bigger adventure. This time, we chased a massive skywalk paired with a iconic suspension bridge hanging 95 meters above the valley floor.
Beat the Crowds: Parking Strategy
In 2022, the Czech mountain resort of Dolní Morava constructed what was then the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world. They named it Sky Bridge 721. The number clearly reveals its incredible length: exactly 721 meters. Although Hungary later opened a slightly longer bridge in 2025 (the 723-meter Bridge of National Unity), the Czech bridge remains a breathtaking engineering marvel.
Dolní Morava resort offers a massive playground for outdoor lovers. When you combine its top attractions into a single day, you create an unforgettable itinerary packed with fun, adrenaline, and alpine views.
Our day began at the parking lot below the main chairlift. The resort features several parking areas, but they fill up rapidly on weekends. We decided to arrive before the resort opened, right around 8:30 AM. That strategy paid off completely. We parked effortlessly at Parking Lot No. 5, located closest to the chairlift station. We purchased our attraction tickets online in advance, completely skipping the morning ticket lines. We scanned our mobile passes and rode the chairlift straight up to 1,116 meters above sea level beneath the peak of Mount Králický Sněžník.

First Stop: The Sky Walk Tower and the Giant Slide
Right at the top of the chairlift, we visited our first major attraction: The Sky Walk (Stezka v oblacích).
This 55-meter-tall wooden spiral tower is one of the most recognized landmarks in the Czech Republic. The wide wooden ramp is completely stroller-friendly, spiraling gently toward the sky. It offers panoramic views of the Králický Sněžník mountain range and the neighboring Jeseníky mountains. Kids love the mesh climbing tunnel suspended between tower levels. At the very top, braver visitors can walk across a high-tension mesh net suspended 50 meters in mid-air.
The main highlight for children (and adventurous adults) is the 100-meter-long stainless steel spiral slide. If you want to skip the walk down, you can take a high-speed ride to the bottom. In our case, the slide did not save any time at all—we reached the bottom in seconds, but we immediately walked back up to ride it multiple times!

The Main Event: Walking Sky Bridge 721
Next came the absolute highlight of our trip: Sky Bridge 721. The suspension bridge connects the Slamník ridge near Slaměnka hut to the slopes of Mount Chlum across the deep Mlýnické Valley.
Walking across this bridge is an unforgettable experience. You feel a gentle rush of adrenaline mixed with pure awe. It is not a terrifying feeling like climbing a rickety rope course; it is a comfortable, exhilarating walk high above the forest canopy. Despite its length and 95-meter height above the valley floor, the bridge feels remarkably stable and rigid. I felt completely safe during the entire crossing. The bridge operates in one direction only, meaning you never have to squeeze past oncoming foot traffic on the narrow walkway.
After completing the bridge crossing, we followed the Bridge of Time educational trail. This pleasant walking path winds through mountain pastures and forests back to Slaměnka hut. Educational boards explain local border history, historical fortifications from 1938, and regional nature protection.
Final Thrill: The Mammoth Alpine Coaster
To return to the valley parking lot, you can walk, ride the chairlift down, or rent a mountain scooter. However, we saved the best option for last: The Mammoth Alpine Coaster (Mamutí horská dráha).
We bought our coaster tickets online beforehand. We faced a short 15-minute wait at the top station, which was our only line of the day. And then came the long-awaited thrill!
What followed was a wild 3-kilometer coaster ride through dense pine forests and open alpine meadows. The track features sharp terrain waves, high-speed banked turns, a subterranean tunnel, and two spectacular 360-degree loops. Before we even had time to catch our breath, we arrived safely at the bottom station near our car.
We headed home with slightly lighter wallets, but immensely richer in wonderful family memories. If you are asking whether a day trip to Dolní Morava is worth it, the answer is simple: Absolutely yes!
